Berger Paints, which commenced manufacturing paints in the Caribbean in 1953 and claims to be the largest Paint Manufacturing Company in the English speaking Caribbean is reporting a J$90,000 loss after their first 6 months ending September 2011 compared to a profit of J$12.4 million for the same period in 2010.
It is fair to note however that they had one off costs of J$17.5 million related to a restructuring exercise in 2011 aimed at improving efficiencies in their manufacturing process. They are also reporting an increase in revenue of 9.4% for the six months to J$670.5 million compared to J$613.0 million for the six months in 2011 compared to 2010.
