Former Commissioner of Customs Danville Walker yesterday joined the Jamaica Observer as its managing director as part of a new management team appointed to run the daily newspaper which marks its 19th year of operation today.
Walker takes over from Ed Khoury, who returns to the ATL Group head office where he will head ATL’s new Energy Solutions Division, which is scheduled to be launched by the third quarter of this year. Khoury remains a board member of the Observer.
He (Khoury) will be joined by Paul Grey who, for the last three years, was head of engineering at Sandals Resorts.
Deputy Chairman Adam Stewart will assume responsibility as CEO of the Observer.
Paul Rodgers, who worked at The Independent on Sunday in the United Kingdom, has assumed responsibility as business editor.
