The JMMB Group Limited has advised that effective March 13, 2017, Mr. H. Wayne Powell was appointed to their Board of Directors as well as its subsidiary JMMB Merchant Bank Limited.
Mr. Powell has over 45 years banking experience with Scotia Bank Jamaica and was in February 2014 promoted from head of retail banking to Head of Retail Delivery, English Caribbean Region, with The Bank of Nova Scotia, Toronto, Canada – responsible for the growth of the Retail and Small Business portfolios across the Caribbean. Mr. Powell is on a number of boards for the Scotia Group.
Scotia Investments Jamaica Limited (SIJL) has advised that Ms. Camelay Roberts was appointed to the position of Assistant Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer, effective February 27, 2017.
Derrimon Trading Company Limited (DTL) has advised that Mr. Winston Thomas, Chief Operating Officer, has served notice of his retirement and would be relinquishing his Executive functions effective March 31, 2017. Mr. Thomas will continue to serve as a member of the Board of Directors, DTL reported.
Almost a month after the fact, Scotia Investments Jamaica Limited (SIJL) is advising that Mr. Gregory Samuels, one of its senior executives has resigned from SIJL to pursue other interests.
The notice from the investment house (on Feb 3, 2017) stated that Mr. Samuels, Assistant Vice President, Treasury & Trading, resigned effective January 1, 2017. The scotia group has undergone significant leadership changes at the executive level since last year as a number of its managers have either resigned, retired, made redundant or otherwise. They also hired their first Deputy CEO for the first time.

Cable & Wireless Jamaica Limited (CWJ) has advised that Ms. Michelle English has been appointed as a Director effective September 8, 2016.
CWJ further advised that the Board of Directors has resolved to change the accounting terminal date from March 31st to December 31st. This change to the company’s financial year end will be coterminous with that of Liberty Global, to achieve uniformity throughout the group. The relevant applications are being made with the Tax Administration Jamaica.

Caribbean Flavours and Fragrances Limited (CFF) has advised that Mr. Howard Mitchell has resigned as Chairman from the Board of Directors effective August 11, 2016.
Mr. Mitchell’s resignation is a consequence of his recent appointment as Chairman of the Financial Services Commission and the resulting potential for perceived conflict of interest.

Mrs. Misheca Seymour Senior has accepted an offer to be appointed to the position of Group Chief Compliance Officer with effect from October 1st, 2016. Mrs. Seymour Senior is currently a Compliance Manager, Legal Counsel and Assistant Company Secretary in the Group Legal and Compliance Division.
In her capacity as Group Chief Compliance Officer she will be responsible for regulatory and anti-money laundering/counter-financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) compliance programmes for NCBJ and its subsidiaries and will continue to report to the Head of the Group Legal & Compliance Division. She will also have a reporting relationship to the Audit Committee and Board of Directors.

Pulse Investments Limited (PULS) will have a new CEO come January 1, 2016.
At a recent meeting of its board of directors it recently agreed Safia Cooper should be appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Company, and Kingsley Cooper will retire as Executive Chairman and continue as Chairman.
