Jamaica Logistics Hub

With the widening of the Panama Canal in 2015 and Jamaica’s rise as the 4th Node in the Global Logistics Chain next to Singapore, Dubai and Rotterdam; Jamaica’s Logistics Hub initiative represents the next stage in the evolution of Jamaica’s airports, seaports and industrial infrastructure. This government-backed initiative will create state of the art logistics zones and logistics parks which will enable international businesses to fully exploit the strategic location Jamaica enjoys.

World class sea ports and air cargo facilities will mean the efficient and cost-effective handling of all forms of sea and air freight, while special economic zones, free zones and logistics parks will offer the perfect tax-efficient option for global businesses wishing to move goods to and from the massive North, Central and South American markets.

With the right investment and global partnerships, Jamaica will become

  • The transhipment and air cargo logistics hub of the Americas
  • The Caribbean’s strategic handling point for bulk commodities
  • The Latin America and Caribbean centre for aviation-related maintenance repair and overhaul and ship repair and dry docking.
Large corporations and logistics service providers will be encouraged to set up operations, control towers, headquarters and BPO centres in Jamaica.
